Discover one of Assynt’s wonderful walks with this accessible and rewarding walk in Little Assynt, perfect for all abilities. Begin your adventure at the Leitir Easaidh car park, signposted from the A837. The path is developed and maintained by the Culag Community Woodlands Trust, who also care for nearby Culag Woods in Lochinver.
A well-surfaced path leads you through stunning scenery. Early on, you’ll pass an interpretation board and map before heading through a gate. The trail shortly forks—take the right to visit the eco-friendly composting toilet and a pretty lochside shelter, complete with a pier for fishing (permits required). Don’t miss the breathtaking views of Quinag’s dramatic mountain face. In my opinion one of the most beautiful mountains and my top favourite to climb.
Further along, the trail splits again. Detour right for a tranquil picnic area and another peaceful lochside spot, or continue left along the main path to Loch na h-Innse Fraoich. Here you’ll find a second shelter, jetty, and toilet, perfect for a relaxing break.
A short loop at the end of the path leads to another stunning viewpoint, offering sweeping views south towards the iconic ridge of Suilven, framed by Loch Torr an Lochain. On your return, take the alternative route back for a fresh perspective before retracing your steps to the car park. 
This walk offers a perfect mix of accessibility, tranquility, and classic Assynt views—ideal for a short escape into nature.
