As the sun sets below the horizon on the Minch and the last of the light fades, a whole new kind of beauty appears above us — one filled with shimmering stars, sweeping constellations, and sometimes even the incredible Northern Lights.

Our remote location on the northwest coast of Scotland means next to no light pollution — giving you a front row seat to some of the clearest night skies in the country. Wrap up warm and step outside your chalet and look up… you’ll be amazed at just how many stars you can see with the naked eye.
The Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis)
During the darker months, from autumn through early spring, the Aurora Borealis occasionally puts on a show right here above Stoer Bay. Green and pink ribbons of light dancing across the sky are a sight you’ll never forget. Guests often spot them from their chalet decking, or while taking a late-night stroll down to the beach — no long drives or tours needed!
